Chai Pendant
Please view video in full screen mode by clicking on the icon [] in the lower right corner of the video screen. Thank you.
The circular / cylindrical bail at the top of the pendant is made up of 613 strands [representing the 613 Mitzvah] and passes through the chuppa [Hebrew for the canopy that a couple being married stand under during the marriage service.] structure that the Hebrew letters: Chet and Yud "stand" under and are written as being black fire on white fire. [A teaching is that the Hebrew Bible (The Old Testament) is that the black letters a"black fire" were written on "white fire." Put another way, the letters are inscribed, so as to be an immutable permanence. Put yet another way, the letters are written as the strongest force (or perhaps more truly stated as the only force) in the universe. For instance one might imagine, written as / are cosmological structures of Black Holes.] The two letters from the word Chai. This word Chai, as defined in a Talmutic dictionary [a dictionary that gives the meaning of Hebrew and as applicable, Aramaic words, as used / defined during the Talmutic period [s]]. "To Live". And it means just that, a word that is a verb. Consider, one is blessed with life so as to be animated "To Live".
Hebrew letters have number values. The word Chai being made up of a Chet that has a number value of 8 and a Yud that has a number value of 10. Adding the two together: 8+10 the sum is 18. So the word Chai has a total number value of 18.
A water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms [and each hydrogen atom has an atomic weight of 1] and one oxygen atom [that has an atomic weight of 16]. The total atomic weight [more descriptively and accurately called the molecular weight] of water is then 1+1+16 the sum being 18.
The year that the Torah was given is 2,448 BCE. Adding the individual numbers of this year together then: 2+4+4+8 the sum being 18.
Torah is often equated as being like water, essential for life; to live.
What do you think the probability is that just by chance alone, all 3 of the above have a number value of 18? A. Litwin would be very interested to learn of what you think in this regard. So please feel free to send an email about such or a call to chat.
If you are interested in this Chai Pendant please contact A. Litwin for details. The pendant will be 18 mm tall, [not counting the chuppa] 18 mm wide and 2.2 mm thick. The letters could be made of Onyx or another material. Likewise, for exampe a gold for the rest of the Pendant and chain. If you view the video rendering of this pendent in full screen mode, and one pauses the video after the pendant has rotated about 180 degrees at the bottom, off to the left, one can see the metal mark of 18K. Indicating 18K Gold. White Gold in this case but also please notice that the metal has a patina to it. If you happen to look up the word "patina" some dictionaries will associate this word with a green color. Fine, and A. Litwin's favorite color. But from more of a jewelry perspective the "patina" that may form on a white gold is different. A. Litwin, is, for the moment going to not comment much more on this matter except to say one could see this type of color changing patina [that is not toward a green color] as a positive color change. One that enhances the color of the metal. Humm, maybe sort of like the change that occurs after a bit of "to live" happens to one. Please feel free to take a look at this paged on Rhodium Plating and elsewhere for different perspectives. But as it is said, whatever way one goes, up, down, right, left, and all around, it is the To Live that it is all about.
