This Star of David is based on commentary from Rabbi Loew [1512-1609] where each of the six points of the star represents one day of the week and the center hexagon represents Shabbat; the seventh day of the week. However, this seventh day is quite separate [holy]; one beyond seven. In this Star of David design, this aspect is represented by its form, there being eight "layers" to it. To comment on this concept more than to state: that if one rotates the orientation of the number eight [8] by 90 degrees, one has a representation of the mathematical symbol for infinity [∞] is, as could be colloquially put, above A. Litwin's "pay grade."
"Speaking" of, the design of the central hexagon could be designed in a number of ways as the images and video rendering suggest. Indeed, A. Litwin would welcome your thoughts in this regard. A few ideas to start with are:
- The central hexagon could be a hexagon shape diamond. However, what cut would you use? Or the setting could be changed and a round shape diamond used. Why? Well consider where one finds the Gematria [A practice whereby, one can, based on a property of the Hebrew letters that each letter has a basic number value. assign a word with a number value by totaling up the number values of the letters in a word and then attribute a symbolic meaning and or understand, a further meaning and or relationship that the word has.] of 314. A word [that in this case is a name] with the number value of 314 is found [A. Litwin will say, usually] on the door post of a Jewish person's gates [in modern times, the front doorway of the person / family's house] [and likewise, often the entrance way to most rooms]. A 3 and a 1 and a 4 are the first three digits in pi [π] an irrational number that one could consider having an infinite number of values [digits] after the three [3]. That is 3.14... pi the math constant that describes the approximate ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. If then this concept was used, the central hexagon could be designed so that it is the basis of a setting of a round shaped diamond. What carat [ct] weight might this diamond have? [Each one carat of diamond has a weight of 200 milligrams.] And its other properties? Thoughts?
- Another type of stone that might be used is the Black Onyx. Because for one:
- To allude to, no-thing, and one could also design the central hexagon with only the six-sided border, the central space itself with nothing. The star resting, tangibly upon your heart and soulfully in your heart. This we understand to allude to the prayer ...
A. Litwin would find it wonderful and in wonderment to learn what your design would be. As in the images and rendering, we could use a Yellow Gold, or White Gold or Rose Gold or... use Silver and with the design use an 18 or 22 inch long chain or...
